In my experience, it's been considered taboo (especially by employers) for employees to discuss salary with peers. Does this practice help encourage pay inequality? Thoughts?

Seeking advice: I’ve been working as an analyst at a PE company for 18months 4 days a week on a part time contract and I feel like they are under paying me. I’m earning 42.2K p.a They want me to go full time as I am graduating however I don’t know what the base salary for an analyst with 18 months experience would be. My friend who works as an analyst (with less experience than me) is earning 70K. Would love to get a sense of what I should be expecting / asking for when I go full time. Thanks!

Do most firms start reporting years in September or January? Prior firm did an August year for counting hours and then another did January (both Amlaw 200). Looking at an Amlaw 100 to lateral in the fall (so trying to anticipate how much of the year I’ll have). I’ll ask what bonus/reporting year but just curious if most follow the same.

What the F do ACDs in NY make? 3rd time I’ve spoken to a recruiter, gave my range (approx $155k) and heard “Gosh that’s high.” I’m a 10+ year NYC professional approaching 40...you gonna pay me 80k?

So I had HR discussions after tech and managerial round and she said, she will have to get approval from management for salary discussions as it’s on the higher side as per my YOE.

Does it mean they will drop my candidature here and now or do I still have any chance ??

I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? Is there ever a perfect time to switch your role in an agency (Strat to account, account to creative etc.)? Or do you have to start from the ground up?

I had a creative Director question my worth and said the only reason I’m in this industry is because of MAIP (as if it was a bad thing). I been unsure how I should handle it and would love advice❤️
