I’m in a great agency and have a great job, but I’m in a not so great city. I’m bored, surrounded by old people, the city isn’t diverse, and I’m far away from family.

Would it be crazy to leave?

People who have cheated in their previous relationships, how did you come to realize the reason behind your behavior? A close friend confided in me that she has cheated in all her previous relationships and struggles to understand the reasoning behind it. She feels a lot of shame and is trying to understand why she does what she does.I have suggested therapy but she is not ready yet. How did you folks arrive at the root cause behind your behavior? Advice? Book suggestions that I can pass along?

Perhaps not directly relevant, but I have a difficult family background. Never known my dad, my mom had serious drug/mental health issues. Grew up with grandparents and aunt & uncle. Somehow I miraculously did well in school and ended up in big law. For Christmas I plan on faking quarantine to explain why I’ll be alone, though I want to be more upfront with colleagues, friends and potential partners, but I’m afraid my story will appear off-putting to them. Heartbroken - found out yesterday that someone very close to me in my family who has been clean for 10+ years (addicted to coke and alcohol, used it as a crutch for sexuality issues), relapsed recently and has started casually drinking again. I am the only one who knows this, and if it gets around, it will mess everything up for him. At a loss about what I can do to help, but also want to communicate to him that I think it’s a very bad idea that he start drinking again. I’m graduating in December, with a background in environmental economics and policy. Consulting didn’t work out this cycle. Made it to final rounds for Bain and Kearney but in the end didn’t get an offer. I want to recoup and try again, but I’m worried that once I’m out of undergrad the door will be closed to starting in consulting.

What can I do to make this happen? I have friends and connections at Bain and Kearney and the other firms as well, but not sure if it’s feasible now.

It seems as though entry level/junior roles in the industry are slowly disappearing. How can young people who haven’t managed to get their foot in the door yet actually start? For not so recent grads.

Compared to other departments it seems like creative often has the least amount of people of color. Why do you think this is and what steps can we take/are being made to get more of us in creative?
