What are some tips on how to reach out to someone you don't know very well personally, but who works at a company you're interested in working at.

I teach freshmen who haven't met the only other single teacher in my department. Today, I asked one of them to take something to him and immediately kids started talking about how we were dating. Ugh.

How do I be a decent manager to a coworker who's upset I've been promoted twice in two years and they haven't? I’m four months into my job and I got put onto a PIP. I worked so hard to break into IB, put up all the hours and even working 2am nights for weeks, learned a ton, and improved a lot along the way as the sole analyst yet this happens.
