They all suck at this. It's like ranking airlines by customer service, sure some are better, but it's awful all around.
Lol at BCG1 asking if OP was inquiring about socioeconomic diversity amongst partners at top tier consulting firms
Ethnic?
Gender?
Socioeconomic?
...
Socioeconomic background, MC1.
Rich kids vs first gen college etc.
Congrats on feeling smart.
Anecdotally, in the US, we have a lot of Indian partners, other non caucasian ethnicities are less well represented
I decided not to interview with Bain during first year MBA partially for this reason, among the top consulting firms (extending beyond MBB) they were by far the less diverse when it came to offers extended (I’m referring to my school&class) to URMs...They basically only extended offers to the golf club.
Mck > Bcg > Bain
^Underrated comment 😂😭
McK1 is definitely right at an absolute level. On a relative basis not as sure, but wouldn’t be surprised. Bain is certainly last.
BCG1 that analogy was on point 👌🏻
Agree Bain is the last. Just go check their website and you will see.
If I was being blunt it’s white males > Indian males > white females and then the rest ...
I guess he never hired from his binder full of women.
Hispanic here, can confirm the lack of diversity at Bain.
Ethnic
Strategy& isn’t much better.
How much are your firms addressing this?
From my non-diverse perspective, it looks like bcg tries to address this quite actively.
However, it’s still very much a zero-sum game amongst firms because we’re all just fight to hire the same subset of diversity candidates from a small pool of ivy league schools. The increased demand probably leads to better outcomes for diversity candidates but in my eyes is mostly just a feel-good tweak vs more substantial solutions needed to increase the share of diversity backgrounds getting top-experiences
Bain is definitely last. As a URM I felt the push to increase diversity from BCG and Mck...Bain literally felt like they wanted to run the opposite way from any diversity initiatives
“But but but... that’s impossible! It’s Mitt’s old firm!”
