Cenetene is multinational and facilitates government-sponsored healthcare programs and services. I think it's the best option as far as job security.
Elevance is also in government-sponsored healthcare, as one of their subsidiaries is National Government Services, one of the Medicare Administrative Contractors in the US.
They primarily handle the Great Lakes states and the Northeast.
There's room for growth at Elevance Health. The company has a digital portfolio, as well as medical, clinical, behavioral, pharmacy...
I don't have any experience with Elevance, but as far as Centene, I think the work life balance depends on what department you're in but they have generous PTO
As far as growth for a company, I would choose Elevance. Centene focuses services on underinsured and uninsured groups, which is fine, but Elevance is more business- and revenue-focused.
I think Elevance might be the better role personally, there's a lot more growth there and probably better exit opps as a result. You could do a lot once you leave comparatively
I’d kill to join either company but I’ve had no luck at either after multiple apps.
My experience at Elevance was horrid and if I can avoid it, I would never work at another insurance company again. I think a lot of it was that I was working for their MAC subsidiary (National Government Services) and the pay was awful, since they were trying to squeeze as much profit as they could out of a government contract.
I don’t have any experience with Centene, so I can’t speak for them.
