Joining a big firm next week as fully remote lateral and flying out to home office for orientation. The schedule has me in office until 4:15. I’ve already been told I won’t have any actual work. I would just like to take this time to tell everyone that no matter what your role is, or who you work for.. that we work to live, we don't live to work.

I understand that statement has some degree of privilege.

However when things are all said and done, a lot of us won't be worried about the extra dollars we made or an additional title we got, but what we were able to do with the time we had.

Just wanted to say that this group inspired me to book my first facial in my 32 years of life! So excited!!

People have gotten so used to just backing meetings up into each other. You logout of one and immediately jump in to another. I remember days full of meetings before but not at this volume.

I struggle believing this practice will cease with any percentage of the workforce at home. I don't subscribe to all or nothing but I'm interested in if this has been addressed. Has anyone's hybrid policy mentioned the future of meeting best practice?

Email from leadership last week. We can go back as soon as 7/5 with permission. Had to let our boss know. Phase 1 will begin in July and go through end of Sept, provided schools are re opened. Future phases will be announced at a later date. So, I guess at this point in time, things are still up in the air.
