I think red flag
Look out for you. A lot of recruiters will reach out to ‘open to work’ candidates first. Also, not sure if you’re in the U.S. or not, but 3 months from finishing interviews to actually receiving an offer is a LONG time. If you get better offers while they take their time, then that is on them.
You can be “open to work” without having it emblazoned on your profile picture. I switched companies last year, and I put mine on the moment I realized it wasn’t a good fit. I used whatever setting excluded people from your company as well as not adding it to my profile picture. I also didn’t post that I turned it on, which was a LinkedIn suggestion. I got a ton of pings from recruiters, including my new role.
Never tried it out and did not know that I could exclude companies. Thank you. I will play around with it.
Rising Star
My LinkedIn is always set to “open to work”
Rising Star
I’ve been with the same firm since I graduated undergrad. I’m always open to a better opportunity but obviously I’m not taking the first job I’m offered. With being “open to work” people are more likely to reach out. As staff, we don’t have the same opportunity as PPMDs to be headhunted for lucrative packages.
Well you technically don’t have an offer in hand. I think it is fair to have that status and I am sure they might be interviewing other candidates.
They will not, but If they confront just say that it was an error or whatever it takes, just look out for yourself.
No, they are not interviewing. It’s a reputable firm. I know for sure they are working on it, but, they have no definite timeline. But, given the economic status and with no offer in hand, I am feeling empty handed. And, worried as I will soon go into unemployment.
Set it to open to work then leave it that way because you “forgot”
As a recruiter I always look at people open to work first. If I can’t find anyone then I remove that filter.
