I’m in that practice . So our SAP practice is small and we don’t have a lot of traditional ECC role but we have a lot of Ariba and hiring for S4 Hana talent ; what’s the reason you are leaving D ??
EY’s consulting is EY Advisory. Advisory has different pipelines- PI and Risk. The practices (SAP, ITA, Digital,...) are different from pipelines.
Yeah EY Practice is a bit unorganized I would agree. I’m joining D actually lol
I'm not EY (kpmg) but I'm my understanding from friends who work there is PI is part of advisory but on the consulting side. For my firm, it seems like PI is the equivalent of our management consulting arm.. our risk consulting arm also does SAP work but more around governance and controls. I'll leave it to an actual EY guy/gal to confirm this
EY SAP is avoidable for quality it work and Leadership reasons..
Isn't EY's PI the equivalent of Deloitte's Consulting?
EY3, would you leave Deloitte SAP for EY PI for 30% hike?
Op.. You're better off getting Deloitte to match the offer. Ive known a few who have left for EY, but none have been very happy after a few months. Admittedly my sample is relatively small.
Congrats EY1. Hope you like it here. EY4, I’m M2.
Would stay from SAP practice. Pipeline doesn’t seem that great (and please, don’t include internal projects, folks). Some of the people in SAP don’t even have an SAP background...I was a bit surprised by the lack of SDLC knowledge and expertise—by the time you’re a senior consultant, I expect you to know what to expect and the right questions to ask. Advisory rebranded itself from consulting to advisory. If you’re going to leave D and want to stay in the SAP domain, try to join SAP (the actual company) in the S/4 space. My 2 cents.
SA1 - I hope it is. I was under the impression that EY Advisory did some SAP projects too. So not sure if it was rebranded or they are two practices within EY. Recruiter was a little vague, besides I spoke to him for less than 10 minutes.
EY1 and EY2, thank you. That clears it up. @EY1, not leaving yet, but since the recruiter reached, I was eager to know more. So, how small is the practice and what % of folks work on full blown implementations?
@OP what level are you?
I would not. Knowing what I know...EY does pay well ... post EY opportunities are what you should look into...
@d1 no one is actually in EY or D ?
@D1, how big is your sample size? But that’s good to know. Guess the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Op- level? 30% seems like a large hike
Sample size of three... Have a consultant who just left too, but haven't received her feedback yet
Thanks OP. What’s the reason you are leaving D? Just for the money ?
Yes, would consider an offer for a good bump in pay, provided I know I can get good opportunities there. I’m ok with a smaller practice, would be disappointed if the work sucked or was not challenging enough.
