Recruiter for Strategy& Engagement Manager role gave base of “high 100s to low 200s” with "up to 52%” bonus for Tier 2 city (PHL, CHI, etc). Any insight into typical comp? Range given was pretty wide.

Chicago is not tier 1 lmao and I live here. San Fran, NY, Boston, DC are tier 1.

Agree to disagree. No state income tax in Washington and Florida significantly reduce COL and the nations highest state income taxes in California add to COL

like

McK1 is spot on. Also S& does not adjust salary by city tiers.

like

CHI is a tier 2 city...? Anyway, 240-300 is right around the ballpark all-in range for EM-equivalent, lots of variability depending on performance and firm. If S& offers are negotiable you can stretch it to the higher end.

like

Thanks McK1. I typically only view NYC, LA, SF, and Boston as Tier 1 just due to cost of living.

like

@EY2 hard to say if it’s a jump at all considering the range provided

like

If LA is tier 1 by your definition than so is Seattle, Chicago, Miami and most certainly Washington DC which is more expensive than LA, Chicago, and Miami

What was your base OP? Is this a big jump for you?

There are no tiers. The range of base is based on time in grade. ~175-~220. Bonus is based on tier (performance rating). Range is typical Strategy comp.

I had an interview with Facebook for a manager role in the 3rd week of October. I still haven't heard back after that, after 3 emails to the recruiter she said they will get back to me when they have an update. Is this normal? Does it take 3-4 weeks between rounds? Or, is this a bad sign.

Hi folks! I’m currently a PM intern at a big Chicago agency but I’m looking to transfer into strategy. I don’t think I will be getting an offer from my current agency as it seems they are focusing on hiring more senior level management. Is anyone hiring or does anyone have any leads/ someone who could refer me for a junior position? It would be much appreciated as a fresh grad. Thanks!! 🤠

My firms bonus structure is based on “billed out” (what a partner actually bills to the client) dollars instead of actual hours billed. So you can work 2000 hours but the bonus is based on only 1850 hours, because 150 got cut over the year. Is this normal? It seems entirely unfair and makes it impossible to get a bonus.

Hi EY and Fishes everywhere! I might be getting an offer to join tax as an S1 (or exp. assoc), probably not being able to start until mid August based off how the process has been. However, I currently work at a mid size firm and we’re already getting into busy season. How would it look if I asked EY to postpone my start date till after 10/15 and say that I’m not ready to be thrown into a Big 4 busy season and that I don’t want to leave my current firm out to dry. Thank you all so much! @EY
