Defendant fired his lawyer and decided to represent himself. At the hearing on his attorney’s motion to withdraw, my colleague referred to Defendant as pro se and Defendant gets mad and says “I don’t agree with what you’re saying, idk what that means!!” Um if you don’t know what pro se means maybe you shouldn’t be a pro se defendant 😳

I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Why would we resent someone who has that opportunity?

As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. What productivity hacks do you employ? I like to shut off my email for 25 min intervals to focus on real work. It’s like a sprint of focus without being “unavailable” too long.
