I came to Canada with big dreams and have been working every day to prove myself. Master’s in Cybersecurity (University of Guelph), eJPT, PT1 certified, SC-200 cleared, with internship and freelance experience.

The journey hasn’t been easy, but I keep learning and pushing forward. Still hoping for that one opportunity.

We recently got the ok to schedule our orientation and delivery date for our IVF medications and all I have to say is ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF! My husband has dermatomyositis, and his doctor put off treatment so that we could do some collection and go through IVF. I felt like my dr was blowing off our timeline, but I persisted. I worked with CVS Caremark directly and got approval in 2 days (not the expected 3 weeks). Moral of the story: ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF!

Since we’ve all been working from home for months now, what’s the best office chair out that y’all are using for our long work from home hours? Looking to invest in a better one than my ~$150 one from Amazon.

🐠 in Bay Area Tech/Prod companies: Do you generally experience that the tech folks just don’t respect the non tech ones? There is this general mindset that I will not respect you or care for what you have to say unless you code better than I do? How do you navigate this?

Started my Roth IRA in 2019 and bought some funds that aren’t doing so well. I want to trade them for an index fund that the majority of my Roth IRA is in. I am an Audit S1 that wants to work in a B4 Forensics practice. Would it be best for me to accept an offer in Forensics at a much smaller firm (local, 150ish total employees) to gain experience and then try to move to B4 Forensics? Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

What kind of structures do everyone have for origination? Our practice is expanding to plaintiffs personal injury and exploring different benefits programs for attorneys who bring their own cases. So far we’re thinking a points system towards bonuses, but unsure.

I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired.
