As product managers, what questions would you ask when interviewing a product designer?

I work with a junior PM who is not performing. Not my report, we share a mgr, but as a senior PM I lead the product. He can’t finish anything, needs a lot of coaching, I give him 2h/wk but I can’t afford more.
After 2mos I raised it to our mgr who promised to work with him. 2 more mos passed, mgr talked to him only once, no change in perf. I think mgr doesn’t want to deal with the problem. Now they ask if I want to manage JPM. It is going to be a ‘no’ but I want to ask some advice on all this.

I recommended a candidate for hire to a manager that reports directly to me. This person is a perfect match, but wanted the manager to obviously recommend. It has to be a fit. The manager just told me my recommendation is not her top pick. I feel frustrated because as much as we talk about the position, I wonder if we are mot aligned on criteria. What do I do? Do I push more for the person I want or will I cause an issue with the hiring manager? How do I get her to see this person’s value?

I’m so scared to let a relationship that gives me anxiety go because I’m 36 F and feel like I’m not going to find anyone else. He’s not a horrible person, but he can be inconsistent. When I bring it up to him he says he’ll try harder but then always goes back to default. I work in industry and was notified that my employer is laying off people in 3 months. In order to get my bonus I have to stay until then. Do I wait 1-2 months before I start applying to other jobs or start now?

Building out a new function at my company, top 15 bank in the US, and scheduled a 90 minute meeting last week for today. Invite included an agenda and a teams link to the document we would be reviewing. Also asked for attendees to review ahead. 20 minutes in, my co-worker exclaims while I’m mi-sentence we should meet Thurs. after having a chance to review content… WHAT?! I've been almost 3 years in my previous company and never have I ever tasted any raise from them. I got transferred to different accounts and LOB it was so exhausting and finally when I decided to leave and send my resignation my Supervisor be like "you know you should be thankful of your job" To be honest the job was very stressful and supervisor at some point is somehow toxic but thankful I get to take my leave.

@ PE folks, do you think it’s weird if a new member of your Big Law team of lawyers sends you a LinkedIn request as soon as she starts working with you? Is it less weird if I wait?
