Never ever take a counter offer from a lesser employer. Actually, never take a counter offer period. You were looking to leave for a reason, and a few hundred pretax more per month won't change that reason.
@op are you a 2nd year telling us what your first year bonus was? Or are you a second year telling us what this years bonus is?
Maybe this is a Great Lakes thing only but round tables aren't until next week with ratings being decided mid June and compensation coming out mid July. Also from my understanding as long as you're consistently a three or above for years 1 and 2 you're promoted to senior at the end of year 2. Last year the end of year 2 milestone raise (for reaching senior) was ~ 15%.
Well, he worked 1800h as lv 2. This year i worked 1900h as lv2 and my salary is 7000 lower. The gap will get bigger when he gets his raise this year. It is a lie when ppl say mid tier firms do not work as much as big 4.
By the way RSM might mark you to market if you bring them the proof that you got an offer this much higher from a competitor. I heared this from my regional leader of tax.
Bonus not necessarily in your second year. You qualify the year you get promoted to senior.
RSM 4 - what city are you referring to? I'm a supervisor up for manager and base is 90 right now. Will my milestone raise be less than 10% and I won't hit 100K?
I should probably add that I transferred from a different firm in a higher paying region. While I took a dive when transferred I guess I was still at the top of the paying scale
Even if you transferred from a higher paying region, I dont think you can get promoted to manager at lv 4. Plus that transferred to a lower paying region, your rate will get adjusted for the cost of living. May be It is just you that get promoted to manager at lv 4. The other people and me are underpaid severely.
I just want a healthy raise
The moment I know i will only get $1000, i want to walk home immediately.
Fyi, the raise is about 3-5%
how much bonus were you expecting?
Raise % depends on a lot of things: rating, available funds, etc. my first year I got a 4 and a 7% raise.
Bonus at RSM at levels trough supervisor is a joke (not sure about manager and up). The goal is to have a good raise.
How do the hours compare ?
I am just afraid the partners will look at me like a trouble maker if I tell them how much I am going to make at EY and demand a raise. I like the people here but the benefits are so shitty.
When did you guys have round tables? What region are you in?
Great Lakes first year manager makes high 90s depending on rating
Came from a diff firm 2.5 years ago. 1st year rating was 3, then next year 4.
That's awesome! Good for you. Let us know what your milestone raise is when you know.
