For my Deloitte 🐠 who left and had to pay back a retention bonus…how long were you able to string along D without repayment?
If the next administration makes it easier for high skilled immigrants to work in the US, do you expect SWE and tech comp packages to drop a ton due to increased supply of labor?
I’ve been out of consulting for 2 years. I went to company A (was a series E startup but has since went public). I left company A for company B about 3 month ago. I had a job I liked and it was relatively easy at company A but I felt like it wasn’t pushing me at all so I left. I started at company B (a series C startup) a couple of months ago and haven’t had a great time. I’m struggling and don’t really enjoy my team. My old boss at Company A just left and the company posted a job opening (cont)
Hi Fishes, I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be? And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input. - repost across bowls
Hi fishes, can anyone guide me through Morgan Stanley recruitment process?? I have a test coming up for SDET QA Role!! Please help.
I am an HR professional who has 10 years in HR but haven't got my CHRL yet. I've been debating if it is necessary to progress to an HR Mgr/Leader role... thoughts?
What is the salary difference between an L10 Senior Recruiting Analyst and an L9 Recruiting Specialist??
Thoughts on staying on a client that you have been on for a while with a manager you like or taking a new role with cooler, new work with a team you don’t know? Is the grass always greener?
Hola! I will be exiting PwC on 8/1 and I am looking for other job opportunities. What are some companies that you have worked at that have a great culture? Also if you can help and let me know if your company is hiring that would be very helpful!
Deloitte S&A comp for SA with 5 years of exp?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
What are project manager roles at FAANG like? Is the work exciting? Is comp similar to other positions. Thank you in advance for your insights.
Possible overseas role. Have family I can stay with instead of hotel. Should I mention it to project manager as a cost saving so I will get staffed there?
In terms of total comp, who do you think makes more: an EP at an agency or a mid level producer at a FAANG company?
Have an offer that pays ~$350-450k a year, but is very bonus heavy and about 25% of that or more will be restricted stock and options. Making ~$350k now all cash. And the way it’s structured, in the first year I’ll end up being ~$50k short for the year of where I would be if I stayed. Also requires a big move to a location I’m not too keen on. WLB is better, probably 50 hours a week but need to be plugged in 100% of the time. Any considerations I haven’t really thought about? What should I ask?
Received an offer from Accenture for Manager Level 7 with base salary of 160k. Is the salary at par with the latest market trends?
Does anyone have insight into compensation bands for consultants in the communications or public affairs fields? I see a lot of posts about salary for Cs, SCs, Ms, etc (wayyy more than what I make!) but I know ranges on here include some career disciplines that are typically more lucrative. I can’t tell if I’m in range for the offering I’m in or if I’m severely underpaid.
I just got laid off from a strategy consulting boutique in the UK that primarily works with PE funds doing CDD/VDD. It goes without saying that the market is terrible. I suspect no strategy firms are hiring and it will need to be an in-house move or if I could stretch it PE/VC. What are people’s thoughts and does anyone have any advice?
What’s the deal with drug testing for weed if you have a medical card? I assume a company/client can’t hold that against you?
What can I do in the next 4 months to boost my chances? Shooting for HSW and MIT, and want to do Tech/VC/Entrepreneurship after MBA. Background: Asian female, 3 YOE at big 4 consulting by round 1 deadline this year, 4 YOE by enrollment time Stats: GMAT 740, GPA 3.9 from big 10 public school Rec: those who know me well went to T20-25, those who went to M7 don't necessarily know me well EC: strong undergrad club leadership, none outside of firm initiatives since I started consulting
Trying to figure out if I am a bit underpaid? 8 years total experience, 4 in industry, 3 in Big4, 1 at startup (current). Technical program mgmt/product management. Getting $130k, no bonus, in LA.
I should stop day drinking, 2020 broke me. Between this project, Covid and trying to adult and date.
I know my role is to guide/mentor, but I get irritated watching certain creatives gloat over killer work, knowing I had to redo 95% of it b/c they couldn’t take direction & it was originally my idea
For those of you who have successfully started your own agencies — how did you start? As in, how’d you get your first RFP from a client?
Does IHG do a status match with either bonvoy, Hyatt or Hilton? Any contact or link I can request on
I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
It's 8 am EDT and I am already bored of the number of posts below talking about Marriott and SPG merger. HAPPY FRIDAY!
“39% of our new hires and 11% of our senior leaders are women.”@Mckinsey http://www.wsj.com/articles/for-a-company-to-achieve-gender-diversity-the-ceo-cant-do-it-alone-1443600381
Sometimes I feel like my boss takes "coaching" a little too far. He's all about "breaking me down" in order to "build me up". He's told me things like my voice is too boring when I present, or that I didn't do enough in my last role, suggesting that I wouldn't be in his team if it weren't for him in team meetings. Yesterday he asked me to call someone (on a non-urgent topic) who was on DND, and when I told them I'd call them later, he mimicked me. Am I being too sensitive?
Just back from vacation and hit with a fresh realization of how bullshit my job is. All. I. Do. Is. Format. And. Email. Time to start looking outside of consulting, I guess.
Any tips or advice on negotiating salary when receiving a job offer? How can I ask for more without the risk of losing the offer?
If I’m going from mid level to senior at 100k currently, what should I be expecting in terms of a salary raise to that level? In NYC
For those in senior positions- how are you not constantly worried about the success of your work? There’s so many things that can affect P&L that are out of your control, how do you stay calm and not feel like you’re going to get fired as soon as growth slows?
On average, how many emails do you get a day during busy season, before and after WFH mandates? For me, probably 25-->100
Anyone else at a firm so rooted in the past that you’re embarrassed explaining it to other attorneys? Example: We are 10 months into COVID and my firm still hasn’t decided on/implemented a video meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.). So if I want to have a video meeting I have to ask the other party to use their video services. And it’s not at all a funding issue.
Just got a scholarship to take the CAIA L1 in March 2021. Anyone taken it and can offer advice on how to prepare?
