What happens to the buy-in once a Partner leaves? I have an equity partner position offer from a Big4 company and I need to buy-in, which is equivalent to Y1 target comp. The buy-in is in the form of a bank loan which the company takes out in my name and they cover all interest payments. I am curious as to what happens when I eventually exit the partnership. Will I get the buy- in amount back as the loan is against my name?
For those having Salary > 30 LPA and not in Management roles. Are you all great at DSA? If so, how to learn DSA to this level and how much time would it take?
Has anyone worked with a bonus structure for non-exempt employees? Was it discretionary? How did you look at budget?

I have been under discussion with UK employer who reached me thru LinkedIn. Offering 66k salary pretax. Offer is from Bristol. I have wife and 2 kids who wil be dependent on me. Do you think it's fair offer for family of 4? Please enlighten what are typical expense range for such family in Uk. Thanks.
If PwC is moving to the cohort model, how will they be able to poach people from other big4s? If everyone in the group makes the same, they wouldn’t be able to offer a premium base salary anymore right? For example, if homegrown salary is 95k in a specific group at PwC, PwC can’t offer 115k anymore to people from the other firms because everyone in the group would need to make the same with the cohort model.
Deloitte Hi, can anyone provide insight into the comp structure and ranges for new hire non equity partners (ideally in the uk)? How long before you can make it to the partnership?

I’m trying to determine a starting salary for new associates. I realize that starting salaries may vary because the cost of living is higher in Miami than Tallahassee, for example. Rising second year attorney looking to lateral firms into a different type of practice area in my same city, does anyone know of any recruiters that they can recommend to help the search in Florida?
Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. I am coming from public service so billables are 100% new to me. Any insight is appreciated.
Trying to negotiate a salary increase. Firm wants to hear of any examples of salaries at comparable Florida firms. I’m currently at an AM200 in Jacksonville, 4th year, $165k base + bonuses up to $37,500 based on hours. Last year I billed 2100 and got $30k in bonus. Anyone at a similar sized firm in a relatively comparable city (Jax/Tally/Orlando/Tampa?) that is willing to share salary and billable hour requirements?
