Yes it wrong but I would have not said anything. If someone is stealing food that really means they need it. I can’t image a person who has money just walking to trade joes and saying let me steal today for the fun of it.

I agree. I felt really sad for her
Chief
Possible she needed it, and also possible she has an issue like dementia and forgot to pay. Also likely that a staff member noticed and let it go - TJ’s is usually crawling with staff, especially this time of year. Thanks for being compassionate and not saying anything.
^ My first thought was she may have forgotten

Y’all are paying for groceries?

I mind my business. Trader Joe’s will be just fine. Lol

🥺
Trader joe’s employees don’t get paid enough to harass some elderly women for what corporate already accounts for in losses

I’m always cool with people stealing from big corporations. I don’t do it but when I see/geese shot it I’m just like do what you gotta do, baby.
Oh boy, ok then. Agree to disagree.
Nah she stole from Trader Joe's. If she was really broke she'd steal from Walmart

Or it could be dementia, I would’ve paid for her - never know what’s going on.
Or she forgot
I worked at Whole Foods for 5 years while I was in school. Theft was a pretty even 50/50 split between people stealing something like a bread roll and a block of cheese ( clearly hungry ) or wine/liquor. Almost nothing in between.

Quite likely, the woman simply forgot to pay. Could be a case of dementia or related. In any case, it's a matter for TJ's and store management to deal with.

Is she was elderly, maybe she just forgot to pay? Elderly people tend to be forgetful.
It has happened to me twice. Seeing someone walking away w/out paying.
