SC make $140k and my wife a professor makes 115k. So total is 255k per year. We currently own a condo that is worth $245k and pay about $2300 ( will rent for around $2k) Just were approved for a townhome home in good neighborhood for $550k at 6.3% interest it is an FHA loan and we are planning to put 20k down ( we have 70k but want to save some money for a cushion and I have school to pay off by next spring). Monthly payment mortgage is $5k which is half our monthly after 401k. Thoughts?

Am I correct in my understanding that:

Over a certain income ($76k as of 2021), a single person CANNOT make tax-free contributions to a traditional IRA if you have a workplace retirement plan?

In my example, I have a work 401k, and my adjusted gross income is over (or just about hovering) at the 76k limit. This means I can't make pre-tax contributions to a traditional IRA, so I should just go for a Roth?

Husband and I are planning to rent a car (we wipe the entire inside and handles down with bleach wipes) and drive to a state over (only 5 hours, no pit stops) to pod up with my parents for a month or two.
