What does being neurodivergent, queer and a woman have to do with anything?

What?
I’m fine with whoever you are, I’m simply confused.
I would have a difficult time hiring anyone that mentioned their DEI bona fides in an interview. It sounds like high maintenance and grievance culture.
Don’t tell people you’re any of those things
Hey look. Those are both good firms, despite all the crap I say about Accenture. If the both offered the same money for the same work, then you got for which has s better team, period. Do not expect quick promos. Do not expect bonuses or a glamorous lifestyle. Expect to leave either to get promoted - possibly to the other. Show up as a hard worker, take on a few extra assignments, and schedule in time for yourself. When it gets to feel like it might become too much, start looking elsewhere. Try to get appropriate certifications in your free time, and meet as many people as possible to network your promo or your exit.
First 6 weeks, drink from the firehouse, take notes, identify what you need to learn, your gaps. Document it.
Devise a plan over the next 4 weeks. Documentthe high level, get feedback from your coach, then refine and Document deeper.
Now get alignment with your coach, and then execute it- evaluating your progress every 2 weeks. Document your progress.
With that, you have a growth plan, and you can work against it.
Those initial 6 weeks are important to get your footing and interpret the prioritization. The plan is adjustable, but dont change everything all the time because that is effectively no plan.
Now. Go and kill it at work.
This is really helpful :) thank you
You should take the job based on interviews and how you feel about it after talking to people in the team.
Accenture or Capgemini (or any firm ) typically don’t refer to their corporate culture in terms of neurodivergence or your personal sexual/ gender preferences. I’m not disregarding your concern about bias, but there is really no way to say that one is better over the other. Look at it from a professional and career lens - and then make a call after speaking to each team.
These are helpful- thank you.
I’m no longer at the Chicago office. When I was there a few years ago, we had a very active LGBTQIA+ ERG with many allies as well. Chicago frog team had many queer teammates. I am also personally neurodivergent and have had no real issues with getting appropriate accommodations.
THANK YOU!!! This is the reassurance I was looking for - much appreciated.
Rising Star
It’ll be group dependent. When I was at Accenture it felt overall more diverse than my current firm, but there are as*holes everywhere. Generally there are many more good people than bad.
What?
Accenture is more diverse but everyone is expected to manage their work and work according to established processes and communicate effectively with clients and each other. I don't think being a woman or queer would affect those requirements and only you know if your neurodivergence would matter to your ability to deliver equally with your coworkers.
