Servers, do you get to keep your full tip or do you have to tip out bussers, cooks, kitchen staff, and managers?

Tip out is on bussers , bartenders, food runnners , barista if you have one ..
Tipping managers and or matre’D by mandate is not legal …

Never ever should kitchen staff be part of tip out !

I seriously wouldn’t work in an establishment where I had to tip out the kitchen unless they’re making 4 dollars an hour like me.

Always appreciate the people who help you work more efficiently….dishwasher busser host and kitchen always got a small % of my tips…management who is salaried is never allowed to take any part of your tip….

I have worked in several restaurants, so the positions I have tipped out to: bussers, drink runners, food runners, bartenders, hosts, and expo (food person who preps the food to garnish, make sure it is to standard).
Usually comes out to about 5% of a checks sales or about 25% of your tips assuming you're making around 20% on each bill.
Most restaurants have a compulsory tip-out, so you're tipping out no matter what, but the occasional restaurant will make sure you're not losing money on a table. That's far and few in between. Some restaurants will even make you tip out on a to-go order even though no support staff was needed.

Management and cooks wouldn't be legal federally unless the restaurant isn't using a tip credit wage (meaning a wage under the legal minimum wage).

I've tipped out kitchen and dishwashers on my own accord to share when I've had good days. Sometimes I'll tip out extra to people who helped me out to help me make more money, like a busser who helped me with additional tasks, etc.

Managers? Kitchen staff? What? No they shouldn’t be tipped out but your busser or bartender should. They make a lower hourly rate like a server. But anyone else NO they make a decent hourly rate.

I work at Pizza Hut I keep all my tips but we don't have hosts bussers drink runners or bartenders we do it all ourselves including cleaning for 10 a hour

Hi all,
I am tech guy with almost 3yr exp, but I want to switch to a Management role. Going for an MBA is not possible for me. I was wondering about the possibility to switch to a management role within the next 2 years without an MBA. Company/Brand is not a bar for me.
Can somebody please suggest how to do this?

SigOs on retreats? Partner over a small, specialized team in a smallish non-profit consulting firm fully remote for a few decades . For a few years my team was 2-3 FT staff (myself included). We had a retreat 1-2 times a year, usually in a city where we were support client work. Sometimes staff would bring a partner along and we'd meet up on the "optional dinner" w mandatory events team-only. I figured we'd meet each other's loved ones and families if we worked in an office. How important is a master's degree for your career? Can you have longevity and thrive in the tech world with just a bachelor's? Asking this because I've been preparing for CAT this year and I feel like my preparation is only good enough to get me around 90-95 %ile which is not enough to get a call from the top IIMs. I've been preparing alongside my job and its been a tough 3 months. Should I spend another year preparing and appear for CAT 2023 or should I give up and prepare for interviews?

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?

Which do you prefer?

“Give me a deadline and I’ll get the work done”
or

“when I get this done I’ll let you know and we can figure out when the client will see it.”

Hello Fishes,

Deloitte USI is offering me 15LPA fixed and 1lack joining bonus and HCL offering me 23LPA fixed. I've tried to negotiate with deloitte but they are not ready to negotiate and asking me to join on the same CTC which was initially provided. I'm confused to select the company. It would be really helpful if anyone could share their views. Thanks.

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
