Hi everyone- I am a NE partner at a Work Comp firm. I’m considering moving into a County Council (CC) position. There are a lot of considerations and one being I’ll make a lot more money initially at the CC position, eventually there’s a cap to how much I can make in government work. But I also don’t know the salary potentials at my current firm so maybe 245k (top range of CC position) is about the same as partner + the other benefits(CalPERS Etc) advice on considerations in this decision?

CCTC 3.5, New offer 6.5 (not my best offer yet)
So I talked to my RM about my compensation, that it's way too low. Even the average fresher salary is higher than mine. And with 3YOE it doesn't do justice. I am barely managing my expenses and getting through the month.
My RM said you're a performer so I can push HR for 5.5. But 6.5 is not possible. I only mentioned 6.5 offer for supporting my statement.
(In Dec, annual hike will be due)
Call scheduled with HR today. GUYS please suggest.

I’m in the process of applying for new jobs and I’m a bit confused as to what to expect for a salary. I work in architecture and am considèrent a recent grad (0-3 years of exp.) but for the past year I have been working as a project manager but not getting project manager pay because I technically don’t have the years of experience for the title.
As I’m applying for new jobs I’m struggling to reconcile the difference between my experience and years post grad.
EY offer letter compensation structure doesn't have any mention of gratuity? But its written below that "beside this you will be eligible for gratuity". Will it be deducted from the given compensation or it will be given in addition to given compensation????

Posting for anyone who may be just “looking at this page” or “sick and tired of being sick and tired”. I found a life through sobriety. It may not be perfect but I no longer HAVE to drink. I never thought it was possible. I wanted to state here that it is. It gets easier as time goes but if you’re fed up know that for many years I HAD to drink. I could not function without it. 24 hours was a miracle to me. If you’re like me you’re reading this and thinking “Bullshit!”. Just try 24 at a time.
Does anyone else feel like a lack of female partners is more than just a firm issue? I feel like societal expectations are a huge factor. We still have this expectation of women as primary care givers

Have a PI case in Pennsylvania where a young child suffered serious injuries and will require 24/7 care from his parents the rest of his life. It seems like PA does not recognize a filial loss of consortium for the parents unless there is a wrongful death of the child… or does it? Any fishes able to chime in on that?

Not a lawyer specific question, but since many of us have crazy student loan debt thought I’d ask here. Why on earth isn’t there a conversation around the predatory interest rates on student loans? I feel like it would be so easy for the federal government to slash those rates, then people would actually pay back their loans, and it would be so much better for so many. We are instead having exclusively conversations about loan forgiveness but why no love for reduction in interest?

Firm background check requires me to put information on past compensation and supervisor contact information. Thought this was no longer allowed in NYC. Can I just put that I don't wish to disclose?
Debating a new job and was told I could expect RSUs ranging from $40-60K on an annual basis. When I asked for this to be written in the offer letter, I was told that because it is a “discretionary grant that is not contractual” it would not be in there. I was also told that my role qualifies for these grants by my new potential boss. Is this normal/standard?

Currently a BTA (2nd year analyst) at Deloitte making 86k base. Have an offer in industry for 105k base + 10-20% AIP (to be paid out April 2021)...Cont.
Spent 3 years in industry, 2 at EY, and now at a boutique tech shop. Currently at $135k base, in Los Angeles. Is this an expected salary for years of experience? Function is Product Management.
Should you always negotiate? I never gave a range during the interview process, I had a TC # in my mind. Got an offer and TC was exactly what I would've asked for. I will take the job.
That said, is there any harm to negotiating for higher here? I don't have any data to back why I deserve a higher #, but feel it's a missed opportunity to just accept the first offer
Anybody know how to compare comp for internal services vs consulting / talent exchange at PWC?

72.5 for all campus hires with standard bachelors degree
BTA = 72,500
@D3 campus hire?
Federal HC analysts have been BAs for about 2 years now
72,500 for BA and BTA across S&O, HC, Tech. The variance in base/bonus begins after the first year.
So is this the consensus?
BA 72.5 66
BTA 72.5 72.5
I know for a fact that Federal S&O BA is 66 (being one myself).
As far as I know they all get the same starting salary
Idk, Federal BA here - $66K first year
Yeah, campus hire
D3 In HC or S&O?
BTA = 72500
BA = 66000
Federal S&O (aren’t HC analysts abbreviated to HCAs anyways? Or are they called BAs also?)
Federal s&o is at 66? Is this advisory?
I was under the assumption S&O is paid the same starting out as BTA, just as federal starts the same as commercial.
72.5 sounds right.
