HR protects the firm, not the employee
You don't get money unless you are at company the day it hits your account
The bonus date firms choose is purely a retention tactic. So you'd be foolish to say you want to leave any day before the bonus is safely in your account
If you can wait for the money to be deposited to your bank account then that will be the best option otherwise you may run the slight risk of them playing games with your end date.
I would wait until the day after payout. They could terminate you immediately and pay the 2 weeks notice but you'd lose the bonus.
We used to call the day after bonus payments "notice day". If there is a discretionary element to your bonus, you'll get none if you're on your way out of the door, and some places won't pay you anything (was certainly the case at my last employer)
Are you allowed to have a confidential talk with someone from HR about this for more details?
Wait until it hits your account then declare. Typically the bonus is worth a few more weeks of pain....
At Deloitte, you can't have given notice in order to receive the bonus.
