Very nice, definitely will be saving that. Skimming through a lot of great topics and looking forward to sitting down and listening through it. Have some summertime events coming up that I’m looking forward to, but could use some extra help with, and this will be a great resource. Thank you.

You’re welcome!

Thanks for sharing!! Is there some reason you prefer a youtube video like this without any visual content over any of the AA books or other kinds of content out there? I don't mean to be dismissive of this (I just started listening) but I feel like I'm just overwhelmed with content so I don't know where to start

Think of it more as a podcast. Start at the beginning. :)

Some background on the guys: https://bigbookseminar.org/history-of-joe-charlie-big-book-studies/

And perhaps a more user-friendly version of the recordings: https://www.wpaarea60.org/audio/big-book-studies/joe-and-charlie-the-big-book-comes-alive/

Joe and Charlie are fantastic! Thank you for sharing this again, Op!

I have joined Nagarro almost a year now as a senior architect. However, I see lot of issues here. The company is great so far as employee friendliness is concerned. It may be rated as the top most company in that regard and that is why attrition is well within control. However, there are issues:

1. Project Allocation - allocated to projects without fitment with the role or skills. No internal job portal

2. Lots of seniors in bench for long time

3. No way to give company feedback

I want to talk about how this industry can sometimes feel like it's run by robots.

Take search engine optimization, for example. It's very difficult to find a good SEO person who can actually explain how they work and why they're doing what they do. They seem to be afraid that if they explain things too clearly, they'll lose their edge over the competition!

I left my last job because I didn't appreciate the culture (B4). However, it was probably because I was a terrible employee. However, I do find that my clients love me 10x more than my consulting colleagues. I joined a smaller firm to cover up the problem.

I drink during the day. I know it's the main reason for my ability to be a productive employee. Anyone else deal with this? I'm trying to control it through moderation management, Dharma meetings, therapy, and white knuckling.

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who shares in this group. It truly helps me stay sober. I am approaching 12 months sober but have been struggling lately. While I have not relapsed, I’ve been close. Normally, before I get out of bed, I write down my reason to stat sober for the day, but lately the reasons have been lousy at best. But reading about everyone’s struggles and successes has helped get me through this past month. So thank you all for the inspiration to keep going strong!

This time last year I knew I needed to stop drinking, but I couldn’t. This year, though, I’m putting my health first. Starting day 2 of sobriety and hope to keep it up. Thanks to this group for all the support and encouragement shown to those of us struggling with such powerful addictions.

My husband was sober for 8 days then relapsed. This is the longest stretch he's gone in probably 8 months. I can't describe the heartache. I can't describe the hopelessness. This disease is the devil

Been running on self-will for the duration of this lockdown. My reserves that I built up in this program are depleted. Thankfully I was able to attend a meeting this evening, and the topic was 3rd step. Funny how that happens. Good reminder that a life run on self-will can hardly be a success.

Just wanted to post an update. 68 weeks ago I posted about my drinking problems. It was bad. It’s been 8 months now without a single drink. I still can’t believe it. I still miss drinking. I’ve sat with coworkers and watched them drink. It’s not nearly as fun, but I am so thankful each morning I can hold my head up high. Will I drink again? I only said I would quit for 60 days. Can I have a beer? Some wine? A fine bourbon? I sometimes crave it. I guess there is the answer! You can all do this!

My last drink was me polishing off an expensive bottle of champagne on New Years. Tux on. In bed. It was a fitting farewell to booze. I’m thinking this could be a whole new thing for me. I’m certainly better off without it. I’m a bit worried about things opening up again. Parties. Travel. The roaring 20s. Got to keep up with the meditations and have plenty of proxies on hand.

I’ve been sober about 14 months, and now with things opening up more I’ve been going out to dinner, concerts etc with friends. I’ve been finding it hard to have fun, or not get restless while out. I think a large part of this is maybe I find the company around me boring? and they’re also all drinking. Maybe I just needed to write that out and vent to say, I’m bored! Maybe saying that out loud will help me get out of my comfort zone to find new activities that change my outlook.
