-It's a really hot day. I'm in NYC and I would only wear shorts above 90F.
-It's a casual office.
-You don't have any important meetings or client meetings that day.
-You have a good outfit and footwear. You're not dressing for a BBQ or yard work.
-And if you're a guy, your legs and ankles are in good condition. Nobody needs to see your mosquito bites and ashy ankles.
I wear them with a blazer sometimes in the summer. Tailored and professional and I can take the blazer off when outside.
