Senior Manager or principal? AWS or Product Manager role? Senior manager you manage a team and p&l, principal you are individual contributor. But generally a lateral move, director and senior director equivalent is L7...but pay can get really high. AWS the highest (I’ve seen up to 450k), product manager (high twos / low 300’s, maybe more)

How long do you have to stay to keep the $250k? That’s the big rock affecting the decision in my mind

Maybe just me, but I wouldn't care about "level" at all, only comp.
I would rather be a senior analyst making 200k than a manager making $150k
Roles are important, when you need to switch to the next role.
Thanks All, I am taking the AMZN offer.

5 stars for you
It’s higher than SM4 but slightly lower than first year Partner (compensation wise) but you won’t see the same increase in pay as you would see in consulting once you become a Partner. If you are on the deck for Partnership now and have a good chance of make it in next two years, I would advise you to stick around. If you are in specialist or MD path, you should consider Amazon opportunity.
AWS1 - What was your total comp when you made the move, if you don’t mind me asking?
First year Managers come in at L6. MBA grads come in at L5, unless you have specific experience.
However I can imagine a 3rd year M coming in at L7 - so this is more for junior SM role at amazon. I would compare it to a director role.
Conjecture from this point in: would say if the team has a chance to grow then it would be worth it unless you’re hitting PMD soon like someone just mentioned
Definitely down.
You are 1-2 year away from PPMD, L7 is still a few level away from L11 which is the max. (Bezo is the only 12, so he doesn’t count)
Depends if you are PP or MD.
As a PP you have direct impact on the company’s future. At L7, L8, 9,10... you are still following orders from shareholders.
Don't know deloitte structure very well but definitely not a step down for a manager. Total comp?

Need Comp to tell you more
AWS1, I am in a very similar situation as you. I am a 4th year director at pwc and have an offer from L7 offer from Amazon. Was wondering if I can chat with you directly.
Heard partners in consulting firms usually go in as director level
I am not a partner (yet)
What’s the role? Are you currently technical SM?
Yup, something like that
Step up dude what are you taking about?
?
