PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?
Forensic tech vs non tech..go!!

This is 100% false. Forensics is moving to mandatory 50 to 55 hour work weeks (still no bonus so enjoy that everyone). Anyone in I&C that is unassigned (there are approximately 2 such seniors in all the US) is going to IFCS for COVID response. We are bringing in people from all service lines to assist (except tax). This is in addition to large banking projects about to start or increase staffing. We have the strongest pipeline in the firm. We just committed an additional 20 I&C PPMDs to IFCS.
I was all about layoff possiblity three weeks ago, bit that has completely changed. Forensics is working closely with firm leadership to make sure we have enough people.
Yeah I was going to say forensics usually booms at these times.
Are you on tech or accounting?
Remember the big wave of FTDS lay-offs in 2017/2018? F&I people got laid off too. Was at mostly manager and up level. My counselor could just be worried but they told me it when I first started in 17 and was right then.
My company is looking for some eDiscovery PMs. Senior and Manager levels. Dallas, Chicago, DC, or New York. DM me if anyone is interested.
And I assume all available Forensics staff is being used.

I’m scrounging for available staff, IFCS is killing it right now and keeping the staff occupied
Haven’t heard of any such thing. Any details?
Haven’t heard anything either, but this kind of rumor usually has like a month lag going into effect
There were layoffs that were deferred, and after the firm reopens, those previous separations (performance based or career path based) will likely be concluded. But whoever spouted the BS rumor that general layoffs in Forensics are coming is a troll. THINK people. How would someone spouting in the Fishbowl know something like that? Pure, uninformed BS. We are in fact borrowing people from other practices to cover our workload. The firm is helping make sure we have capacity to keep selling. There are no plans in EY at all, in any practice, to do general layoffs. In fact, extensive efforts are being made by the firm to keep our people so we're ready when the market comes back and we pick up steam. Amazing what people will accept as true that is spewed into this app by people that have no way of knowing anything...
Again? Isn’t this supposed to be the busy time?
A lot of litigation has slowed down
Is it because of COVID or are they just getting rid of low performers?
Let us know if you find any other details.. curious
