So I am finishing up my masters in cybercrime, and I have a bachelors in criminal justice. How do you feel about a career path in fraud and AML. Is it worth it? How’s the pay? I would want to eventually get my CAMS and CFE. Also what about compliance? Thoughts on FINRA?

Always a need in fraud and aml in retail, financial markets, crypto etc. Pays about average but there’s always opportunities. Get both certifications if you want to go in the field.

Compliance is a good field but not many positions are open (most companies have a few compliance folks/ small team)

Finra is a financial securities organization authorized by SEC to regulate securities markets. It’s a great place to get start your financial services regulatory career so you can get great offers later on (but that’s a specific compliance field so make sure that’s what you want before you apply).

Fraud and AML are excellent skills in financial services. Navy Federal Credit Union is always looking for employees with these skills. There are several CFE’s that work there too. The starting pay is negotiable and starts around $25.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on your background. NFCU has a large campus in Pensacola, Florida, if you are trying to stay in Florida. They also have campuses in Winchester and Follin, Virginia. Their website is navyfederal.org/careers. I worked for them for 14 years and enjoyed the atmosphere and challenges presented each day. I have earned my CFE certification and believe that it is a great way to show your skills in the fraud arena. Navy Federal is the world’s largest Credit Union and offer excellent benefits and pay.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

I was just offered a sales consultant role at a spirit’s distributor 65K with potential to make 75K if I meet goals etc. My dream job @ Red Bull, Similar role but way more fun around the same range of $$ possibly slightly more ..am still waiting to hear if I made it to the final round. I have until Friday to respond and Red Bull said they would let me know IF I made it to the final round by Friday.. should I reach out to Red Bull if I have not heard by Wednesday that I need to make a decision?

I got an offer at Meta as a 3-mo contingent CSM that pays 2x what I make now.

Two pros: 1) Making the jump from a non-tech agency role to FAANG can be tough, so this is a great oppo in that aspect.
2) I'm living in SF on a non-tech salary, so the pay increase would be incredible.

It’s possible I could move into a similar role @ Meta once this expires, but to be safe, I'd need to start the job hunt again asap.

Thoughts on the pivot & how valuable a short-stint at Meta is for future job hunt?

Hi fishes, I need some guidance.

I am currently into the SAP Security domain and I absolutely do not have any interest in it. I am planning to shift to development and have started on some courses on my own.

My question is, is there any future prospects in SAP UI5 and Fiori? Since my background is in SAP, I assume it will make a domain switch easier.

Or should I move into the JS-React path since there seems to be a lot of demand? But my worry is about my lack of actual work experience

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Or should I stay in Audit and wait for B4 Forensics positions to open up? Please let me know your thoughts!

Please who knows about the advisory practice within the PwC financial crime unit (Canada Acceleration Centre)? I understand it is a client non-facing advisory role. Would it be a good career decision for someone coming from GRC firms like Kroll, Control Risk or Exiger?
