Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

Your interview is the personality test. If they’re basing their decision on a software or multiple choice questions instead then you lucked out not working for that kind of management.
Yeah I had the initial interview with them through teams, that's why I was able to go to the skill and software "personality" tests, since those were the second phase. My recruiter was surprised too, he thought I was going to receive an offer after that test was done. So yeah, I agree on not working underneath that management
I've never heard of a personality test being a factor for working someplace. I'm feeling I dodged a bullet with this company, but it's still surreal. I get along with most people, and respectful to those that, well are meh with. It's a kolbe-a test that's based on instincts. I honestly can't grasp the point of this test. People react to things differently in different situations. I can't see how the result "Entrepreneur" that's apparently my score, will be an issue to my work ethic.
You definitely dodged a bullet. Any copy that gives that kind of test before hire is going to be ridiculous to work for.
They probably saw "entrepreneur" and thought that you wouldn't be happy to be a micromanaged wage slave.
Maybe they see you as a flight risk instead of seeing the pros of an "entrepeneur"-type personality (e.g. taking initiative)? Seems like it worked out better for you. Amazon had me take a test more for working/management style but that was before any interviews.
The low pay for what I hear is the expected hours is why I withdrew my application. From what I remember, it's about conflict resolution and how you'd handle certain circumstances involving colleagues.
I did a personality test once as part of a job application. Results came back as a crazy introvert that prefers numbers to people. They gave me an offer.
I declined the offer. I wasn’t looking for a place that wanted to hire an Excel robot…
I think you dodged a bullet tbh.
Was it one of those mbti tests? That's crazy lol
It was a Kolbe-a test. Something that tests your instincts. 🤷🏼♀️

I think there is one nearby. I'll look to see what openings they have, hopefully it'll still be available after tax season.
