So I had an interview with a small CPA firm, probably 10 people max. Everything seemed great and they wanted me to take a skill test and this personality test. Passed the skill test and was told by the recruiter and boss they're just needing me take the personality test thing. It sounded like they wanted me on as they were eager for this to be done, so I took it, thinking it'll just help see how I work. After that I was told they were not going forward with me, because of that test.

Question about job postings. I keep seeing the same equity research associate job on linked in being reposted. Does that mean they’re still looking for candidates or is there another reason?

I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?

I’m peeved as a recruiter called me for a position I really want, said she’d circle back a week later with next steps, and then I get an email saying I’m rejected from their automated system. Is this common practice?

One of my friend got interviewed in Deloitte and she was asked to rethink her salary ask in the HR round. She reduced it to 1L less than initial ask. Now the status is in benchmarking approval. What does that mean ? Will they release the offer letter ?

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

Accounting advisory big4 or IA at F100. Both senior roles. Roughly same base pay.

Big4 has clear trajectory and interesting work.

F100 has 14% bonus, perm remote, and immediate vesting 401k over 7%.

I started a position a month and a half ago at a large holding company. My manager left after 2 weeks of training me, and his replacement is likely going to be another senior accountant.
