Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

I have a field in excel that represents the GSID, that I want to concatenate to create a link. Example field GSID is 123-west and the link needs to be www.website/123_west.html for some reason using concatenate with left & right formulas to switch - to _ results in the field throwing an error. Anyone knows of a way to make this work?
Anyone else feel a little uneasy that the industry press is praising a CMO who fired the agency who resurrected KFC, ran one of the most brutal pitch processes in years and has immediately made the work much worse?

I had a very nice dinner last week with a client. We were appropriately distanced at a table in a screened porch. I came to the door with a mask on and took it off when I was seated 6 feet away. I nonchalantly broke out a small hand sanitizer bottle a few times. When I walked around the room closer than 6 feet, I quickly put back on the mask. But, when adequately distanced, I took off the mask. Yes, it was the optics of the gestures. The point is that the client and others could clearly see that I was following guidelines without over doing it. The dinner guests and host seemed at ease and it seemed to set the tone of compliance by everyone. Others followed suit. I had a great time, the conversation was interesting, and the dinner didn't break up until well after midnight. The client was very gracious and said he hoped people could come again soon. I know that others may have a different experience with client invites, but I'm thankful mine was very good.
I’m with you... haven’t gotten there yet but inevitably will be pressured / guilted to do so in the fall. When covid issues will be worse too.
Did you at least try proposing outdoor dining etc?
I’m with you, not sure I can turn it down. So far I’ve had some lunch offers from referral sources, which I’ve politely declined.
I will not meet any client for dinner, drinks, etc. I have had Zoom Happy hours and they really work. My guess is that most clients don’t want these dinners either, unless they just want to be taken out on an expense account.
I've been spending more time with social calls with clients. My clients are largely in other states so dinners typically involve flying so we aren't there yet.
