So I just got a job offer in a field I previously worked and despite having every single listed qualification, skill, and all the preferred experience, my compensation offer is at the very bottom of the advertised range. I was hoping to at least land somewhere in the middle but should I just be happy with what I got and/or bring it up several months into the job or should I say something now? Definitely am not trying to lose the job before I even start...

Say something now. Negotiate before you start. Give them a 90 day look period at you and your skills before giving you the negotiated rate. If it is not working out for either of you, then walk.

When an organization is not adequately staffed, be sure increase the number of meetings to address how to allocate people. Forcing negotiations at multiple org levels around the same decisions will ensure everyone is totally aligned.

This accomplishes three things:
1) Everyone is mad at each other since they’re competing for people
2) They’re confused and not able to pay attention to the root issue of chronic under staffing
3) They’re distracted from blaming mgmt for the root cause.

Need some advice,
A startup said they wanted me to work for them but I'd have to make my own job title, description, and then essentially ask them for what I want for my compensation package. I'm not from the EU so I'm unsure of what is fair to ask for. I'd be working in operations at a fintech startup, I have about , 7 years experience in projects and ops. Any advice for what I should be looking for wrt to base, shares, benefits, ect?
