Do any of the MBB’s do DD for VC clients?
Hi, I belong to the corporate bowl but I have snuck in to ask if anyone would be interested in assisting the Ukranian Crisis Legal Aid organisation that has been set up by a Hungarian law firm to pair up refugees and lawyers. The website is https://ukrainelegalaid.org and it was set up by KNP LAW Nagy Koppany Lencs & Partners (who I am not affiliated with). This is all pro bono. Feel free to PM me, especially if you are English qualified!
I have been fighting against a lifelong workaholic streak I’ve had. If you’ve ever struggled to relax during free time or feel best when you are putting my fires out, you may be shocked to learn that your brain may actually have developed a physical addiction to the adrenaline of being forced to perform. My therapist mentioned this might happen and I certainly have felt it. You can make it through the withdrawals! This is a great piece on it :

Yes. I make in the low six-figures (as in starts with a 1), have 2 kids in private school and daycare, but you bet I am saving for retirement. When I made $32k right out of college, I was saving for retirement.
Set 7-10% to come out of your check and act like that money doesn’t exist.
You are so right on with this. I hate when people use the phrase “Saving for RETIREMENT” so they can justify not saving because “We’ll never retire so why save?” You are saving for your FUTURE and putting even small chunks of pre-tax money into the stock market every two weeks for a few decades has been proven to be an amazing way to passively build wealth. Don’t be that person who CHOOSES not to put anything away in their early years only to become the person who is lamenting they have nothing saved when they are 50. SAVING FOR YOUR FUTURE IS A CHOICE AND TAKES COMMITMENT AND DISCIPLINE and it will be worth it.

It's cute that you think any of us can retire nowadays.
I know right? I have over a $100k in student loan debt, and rent is $2,100. I'm never retiring.

I’m 40 as well but was able to save throughout my 20’s and 30’s when salaries were higher and didn’t have kids. I don’t save as much anymore. Cost of living is a different ballgame than 10 years ago
I lowered my retirement percentage to only meet my company match. If you’re able, at least meet the company match. If you’re contracting without a 401k, meet the IRA maximum by the end of the year.
It’s insane…. Cost of living is like 30-40% up since 2020, salary up by 4% with much luck. Burning all I saved when costs were more reasonable. Idk what to do to keep up, thinking about side hustles but there’s no time for that…. How’s everyone surviving?
I have 10% of my paycheck go into my 401k and I have some investments with an advisor but outside of that no, I don’t have a lot of savings but working on it but it’s so hard to save these days with the cost of living.
My retirement will most likely be funded through familial inheritance. Have a 401k, but it’s laughable—like not even enough to make it worth cashing in unless I were on the brink of homelessness.
Nope lmao

55, living paycheck to paycheck.
I’m worried about retirement, but now more worried about getting hired at all.
