So, lost my Cyber security job, 7 months ago, but started a similar perspective job yesterday, cracking open phones, laptops, tablets, game systems and PCs to do repairs. I was chatting with claude.ai about it and it pointed out how getting into the devices, I can find new vectors that hackers might try to exploit. I liked that angle, and was paying more attention to the components today.

Reminded my of the Cyber security conferences I've been to with physical back activities.

Been in consumer insights all my work life (10 years) and considering pivoting to product or product marketing manager roles. Yet I have had some interesting convos for people manager roles in insights recently and wondering if I should maybe refocus my efforts there. I’m looking for a broader mandate than just my immediate pipeline. I have been enjoying insights but grow frustrated by the lack of decision-making power. Currently stuck in risk but interested in Cyber. Have done one related engagement from a regulatory perspective. But a lot of posts here making me think it’s harder to break into than I expected (non-technical background).
