Been in consumer insights all my work life (10 years) and considering pivoting to product or product marketing manager roles. Yet I have had some interesting convos for people manager roles in insights recently and wondering if I should maybe refocus my efforts there. I’m looking for a broader mandate than just my immediate pipeline. I have been enjoying insights but grow frustrated by the lack of decision-making power. I rather would want to take a path with high long term career potential.

I’ve been in my current position (Bookkeeper) for 4 years now. I’m highly interested in taking the PHR, and I’m wondering if I would qualify for the 4 year HR professional job requirement to be eligible to test for the certificate. I work for a small business, therefore I do all the on boarding paperwork/payroll. Any advice is appreciated.

I’m an industry senior, manager is retiring in 2 months & new tax director is joining this week. Have been at company for 15 months. Considering talking to HR & new director for a plan to grow my career at this company; company is growing & likely we will need 2 more ppl at associate/senior levels (we have 1 associate). Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

Anyone regret going into data and analytics? Sometimes I feel like I'm too dumb for it. I don't have a statistics background to really take things to the next level, and my colleagues don't have the hours to help me. A couple questions for the turnaround consulting fishes:
1. Is FP&A experience valuable for restructuring/turnaround consulting? I’m a CPA with experience in Big 4 FDD and a short stint in IB. Total work experience is a little over 2 years. I have received an offer letter. But they are checking my background, not doing my onboarding. 2 times my onboarding got postponed. It's been a long time. I have tried to reach hr multiple times. My career got stagnated.

What should I do?

I work in the timeshare industry for the last 10 years, but dying to get out. We book sales meetings with travelers and basically speak to every Type of person. I was always a top performer and now lead a top team. Its not easy and most fail. I made lots of money. I want to change careers and move to tech sales as a SDR or CSM but all my exp is in B2C instead of B2B. Can you guys give me any advice on how to break through?

Product analyst or accountant (industry not public). I feel like I fall back on accounting but product analyst sounds interesting but so scared out of my comfort zone to try something new. I don’t have CPA or public acctg experience either so I know I can’t move up as accountant.

Can’t decide on a job offer. Currently employed and have been wanting to do something different. The other job offer is pretty much what I make now but I’d be losing on a lot of PTO. I kind of feel really confused about what to do. The hiring manager actually picked up on the fact that I don’t sound super excited for the job. Best advice for pivoting from ‘boiler room’ style sales to a more corporate/professional environment?

I'm considering looking for a new job while I have my current job. If I mark on LinkedIn that I'm looking for work but privately so that only recruiters can see it, would HR in my current company be able to see it also? Unsure who all is considered a "recruiter" on LinkedIn.
