PwC 🐠, I interviewed with the firm about 6 months ago for a Senior Associate position on the forensics team. I wasn’t extended an offer because the position was given to an internal transfer, at least what I was told. I tried reaching out to the recruiter I worked with last time but the email bounced back and wouldn’t be delivered. I was hoping to see / reapply if the group still was looking for seniors.
In your opinion, would it be best to reapply as a cold application?

What about the eDiscovery team? I’ve heard they are having layoffs.
Yes
No.
EY 7, don't expect high comp. Even if forensics is doing well, the full firm is considered plus all of the "market research studies" that the firm says they do. Best thing to hope for is what happened in 2008 and 2009. There were no raises in 08 and then large raises in 09 to make up for that.
No. You are insane. Forensics is going to mandated 50 to 55 hour work weeks. There are not enough people so FAAS and other service lines are being pulled in. Forensics has one of the strongest pipelines.
EY 4 is right. PPMDs and SMs have been asked to message this. A formal announcement is expected shortly.

Is this also happening with PwC/KPMG/Deloitte? I see a lot of my fellow EYers with a sense of doom but that’s it
Huh? She has never said be prepared for layoffs. That's at best speculation.
