If you're in the DC/Richmond/Dallas/SF/NYC areas, you could check out Capital One. That comp is is in the pay band for SM/D level SWE positions there. They have an individual contributor track that goes up to SD for SWEs, I believe.
Thank you, I’m in NYC - I will check it out! Thank you. That salary was total compensation for what it’s worth
At Adobe, Senior Software engineers total comp gets to ~350k. However, being an engineer at a tech company compared to an engineer at a consulting firm is completely different I imagine. The engineers at Adobe and other tech companies are beyond amazing and a software engineering role is often the hardest role to get.
Feel the same way about tech. I like solutioning and building. I don’t mind managing but it’s not my strong suit. I’m more hands on.
Not a valued skill anymore. The only valued skilled in development is managing. It’s crazy, I was at KPMG at another member firm and the top developers were paid significantly more than their managers
I think you'll have an easier time hitting those marks at tech companies and banks for SE
Agree with BCG1–especially for coders. FB treats their coders like royalty, and they get the Comp to prove it.
FAANG would pay about that or more depending on experience. That salary range for big-4/MBB in Software Engineering is usually hands-off architecture type roles
