I have some doubt regarding pf contribution... Say for example.. 12% of my base salary is 600 which gets deducted from my salary.. on the flip side.. the company has to contribute 600 to my pf (which is actually deducted from my salary only like already part of CTC)?. So my question again is that.. the company contributes 600 as well? PwC

I feel like we will never feel content on how much money we make. It’s like a never ending rat race that I want out. It’s so addicting as well. I want even more when I am satisfied with the amount of money I have. It’s mind mongling to me lol
It is definitely mind mongling cuz there is no limit to what is “enough" to feel content. I guess this is the thing which keep us moving and look for better jobs.
Lifestyle creep is the issue. You make more money, want nicer things, and now have to keep up paying for them. I’m fairly comfortable now, but more money could always help even more. Maybe a good thing to keep us pushing ourselves, just have to balance that with looking around and being happy too.
That is the only good thing about “wanting more" is that it just keeps pushing us to find better jobs. But, you are right about finding happiness too. There must be a balance between happiness and more money.
It's a never-ending thing in my opinion. Unless I somehow wind up as CEO. I could probably coast by just fine on a 7+ figure salary...
😂😂. That must be the goal. But, I don't think being CEO would be enough. I would hope for 8+ figures then lol.

I feel you, sometimes it’s hard to know where “enough” is. I think part of it is figuring out what really makes you feel secure and happy, not just the number on the paycheck. Beyond that, it can definitely become a bit of a moving target!
That is a great point. Numbers on paycheck should never be the goal but happiness.
Enough for me would give me the ability to save and buy a home. I currently cannot save. It would also allow me to save enough every month that I would be able to afford emergency situations. Id also like to afford healthcare. I currently have none because if I spent money on a plan I wouldnt be able to eat. Being able to afford my rent and live on my own until I could buy a home. Thats the kind of money I would want. Currently even finding something at 17 - 18 40 hours a week would be a huge step up for me. I think it all depends on where the company can take you and when you are comfortable in the life you are living. Also having a company match for retirement.
