Hi everyone, I have 2 years of experience in a service based industry as a Java developer, and I am eager to work hard and switch to a reputed product based organisation, but I am not getting proper time to study and practice data structures and algorithms, as I have so much to learn and understand things which are related to my project. Any suggestions would be appreciated and I'll try to inculcate it. Thanks in advance! Amazon Oracle Samsung Microsoft Cisco Salesforce Arcesium Uber

EY alumnus of 9 years here who was on the official list for PPMD promotion. I worked with the EY Career Center to find clarity around what I wanted and landed on not wanting to go the PPMD route. I did find their executive coaches to be helpful and empathetic. Problem with the roles available through the EY Career Center was that most skewed towards an Audit or Tax background. Partners weren’t very supportive of me leaving the firm despite the lip service. I ended up leaving on my own for other opportunities. And no, I no longer work at Capgemini either, currently at a startup.
Thank you Cap for sharing your story
I did, client partner PPEDs were indeed willing to help. They want someone (you) on the inside. I left and boomeranged back. The challenge right now will be the amount of people looking for jobs. The fit talent management is screening for most positions needs to be 90%+. So that PPED telling the exec that you are "the one" will help, but will it be enough?
Thank you EY1 for your response. My biggest fear is market right now as I am afraid that I would be 1st on the list to let go if another round of layoff happens .
I get it. You want to be proactive. You may already be aware there is a group in EY dedicated to this support. You only need a PPEDD that you trust to do a referral. That's it, very easy process. They then support you like an outplacement group with coaches and resume support. Find companies/jobs you find attractive. Search the EY resources to identify the GCSP. Email them that you are applying for a role at their client. They will usually bend over backwards to help you get noticed at their client.
What I have realized is that all opportunities at director and above require some kind of “Referral “ and it’s making it harder for me to get a meeting .
See my other reply as well, but I also wanted to add that referrals which have always been a cheat code are even more essential right now. Corporate HR is using AI to support their review of 100s of applications and only the 90%+ match get looked at. Decision makers want someone they know, or someone that someone they trust knows. If you want to get interviewed you have to network your butt off. The EY client partners are your network too.
Thank you EY1, very insightful. I already have access to job posting and career guidance but just being cautious to take that leap and let the EY folks know that I am seeking outside opportunities.
