Not in Ohio, but note that some states allow funds to be used for elementary/secondary education if you have private school expenses. Also my parents/in-laws often give gifts to it (called U-gift in CO) where I just give them a code for the account and they can get the tax deduction - that’s usually my kids Xmas gift from them.
For me I just stick my kids into a low fee index fund or target date if it’s not super expensive fee wise.
Ohio lets you take up to 4K per beneficiary a year in local tax deduction, and you can roll forward if you want (eg contribute 8K this year and take 4K deduction this year and 4K next year). It’s easy to set up. Recommend setting it up and then forgetting about it.
