Starting new SC M&A role after 3 YOE in ERP and tech consulting. I have 3 weeks to learn as much as I can so I don’t sound like an idiot on my first day. I bought some books, how would you prep?

i’m a product designer with about 5+ YOE. I recently moved to the US on an H4 Visa. I’m hoping to get my EAD in a year’s time…. wondering if there’s anyway I could continue to consult or work with early stage startups maybe (without pay of course) and then transition to a paid role when the EAD arrives?

Well I’m kind of hoping this gets the boost I want it to. I have been applying to jobs left and right after my company announced it was shutting down in May. I found a new job, but it is not at all the right fit - including a decrease in pay, a misogynist owner (who told me I will never get answers or respect because I’m a female), among other problems. How can I find who advised a specific M&A deal? I can usually find the investment bank, but never the professionals from that bank who were responsible.

I just finished a case study for a boutique restructuring consulting firm and it felt impossible. Is it me or it was designed to feel that way? Objective was 3 statement model, 2 years historical 3 years projected. Send in excel + ppt in 5 hours. I was given a 10k (which btw is NOTHING like the easy 3 statement models online). I saw accounts that I’ve never heard of. wtf do I do with forex, deferred income tax, amortization of deferred lease credits on the cash flows?? Background audit then FDD.

I’m currently a senior in FDD and contemplating trying to move to MM IB and then eventually BB IB.
