I couldn’t get over a review where the owner told me I think I am “grandiose.”
I had a few negative reviews in my new lateral firm recently. It took me a few months to accept that this is probably just a bad fit for me for many reasons. I am in a very white group with little support and trainings. I tell myself to just focus on my mental being and remind myself of the good reviews I got over the years.
Yep. That's it. Bad fit. Get some months and leave.
Sometimes you jus have to let it go. Sometimes no matter what we do, we can bend over backward for a client, they appear happy to our faces, and everything, and they still give us a negative review. Sorry, it happened to you but hang in there you have this!
Ooof, we've all been there OP. I try to focus on the more constructive parts, separating the feedback into things I can immediately change and things I need to work on the long term. Also things I can do myself and things I need help with
Constructively bad or just kept piling on the shit? Take this with a grain of salt cause I’ve always been small firm with no formal reviews. But learn from the feedback and put it into action. If the “bad” qualities are addressed and your supervisor gives a shit, positive feedback should come quick to reinforce that you’re improving.
It started constructive then went to hell.
This job is not a referendum on your self worth. Stay for as long as it serves you and then flee because the stress isn’t worth it
