Studios are planning to spend a lot of cash to market upcoming movies during the Super Bowl. $8m for 30-second ads. Curious to see if this helps OW grosses for some films that aren't expected to do well - like Thunderbolts and the new Superman film.

I guess it makes sense, they've sunk money into those films and need to promote them somehow. I guess launching an ad at the Super Bowl which they can show later on wrestling or whatever else may pay off eventually. But the cost of the spot is pretty wild, I'd like to be a fly on the wall for the meetings that deliberate on that spending. As to whether I'd pay attention to the movie ads, I have zero interest in still more superhero and adventure films, so no, the ads wouldn't interest me personally.
Thunderbolts is the only one I'm interested in. And, I'll admit that I'll eventually end up seeing the "final" Mission: Impossible film next year. The others, I don't really care. I thought the last Jurassic World film was awful.
