Enrolled in Stern for a few weeks.
The number of the alumni and current students that go to top consulting firms FT& summer intern are countless even for a small class size.
Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)

Have an upcoming pre first round evaluative case with McKinsey coming up. Any idea what to expect in terms of
- is it a full case? Or a smaller case like market sizing?
- how high is the bar to pass?
- will any behaviorals be involved?

I have been working in the TMT sector in finance for 8 months and I am looking to vecome more knowledgeable in this new sector (tech sales). Any consulting -> Tech sales people out there? Curious how consulting experience is perceived both from a compensation and placement standpoint in the tech world…? What should my expectation be? For context — I SDR’d as a senior in college and was promoted to AE right as I took a BA offer from McKinsey. How challenging is it to get admitted to American MBA programs? Does RB have recognition in the region? Is it more challenging to get admitted compared to consultants at American T2 firms like Kearney or OW?

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.

My fiancé’s family has a vacation planned at the end of June in Florida (small beach town about 45 mins from PCB). We’d be flying from California if we decide to attend. His family doesn’t seem concerned (ugh whole other story) and the “rules” in Florida are relatively relaxed now (restaurants open etc). Working on a regular desk and my laptop has been killing my back and neck for last few years. Finally spent a couple hundred dollars on a standing desk, wireless keyboard, and back/neck heating pad to alleviate the pain. Very hopeful working will be much better now.
