Switching from PE to a HF (think p72, citadel, millennium) as an analyst and wanted to get a sense of what bonus can be. To those working at a multi-manager shop, what's your bonus / comp structure?

I have close friends at all three shops you listed. Associate base should be $150-175k and bonus will be directly tied to team pnl, your idea contribution and any split you have negotiated with your PM. Could be $0 if you’re down, could be mid-to-high six figures your first year if your team does very well. Figure in a mediocre but up year you could expect $150k range bonus.

Curious why you decided to do this instead of going to business school or staying to in PE?

I didn't enjoy PE as most of the work is execution or process. I wanted to focus on investing and business school wouldn't have helped facilitate that.

Why are you transitioning away from PE? Am considering accepting PE offer; am currently in banking

I was at a larger fund that was very much banking 2.0
