You're broken sentences are hard to follow. Yes I think the MD's listen, all the time.

MDs may spend some time consider ED's suggestions or feedback. Associates should bear some time consider analysts' view and feedback some valuable ones to VP who should absorb and interpret to business/strategic language and feed to ED at appropriate timing. . Structure are there for a reason.

Mine are incredibly receptive

They actually encourage participation in meetings

Yes very receptive.

What a large culture difference! Sounds like your companies have a nice and heathy environment. I will think about move over before retiring.

Hi all. I’m a new hire as an associate tech consultant, been here for ~2 weeks.

This week, I’ll be meeting my senior manager (who is also my counsellor) in a 1:1 virtual session. Any tips on specific questions I should ask? I’m meeting him for the first time and thought I might want to learn a lot from him!

Thanks :D

Is it totally weird to request another meeting after getting a job offer to make sure it's a right fit? 🤔

I've noticed that sometimes I still have lingering questions. ❔

I've been burnt out by toxic work environments, so I don't want to make another mistake. 🙄

How would you handle this logistics of this meeting? (Timing - after the offer but with time before you start? How to phrase the reason why?)

Thanks! 🔅☺️

What is the funniest and/or most awkward Zoom moment you’ve had at work?

I worked at LinkedIn and one of the senior leaders was sharing screen during a meeting. The conversation shifted but the leader didn’t stop sharing screen. This person navigated to Yahoo news and clicked on an article filled with women in bikinis. This individual spent a solid 2-3 mins on the article scrolling and stopping to look at each woman. Needless to say this leader was very distracted by other things on our call.

Did first set of redlines for a partner. Have ten years experience doing what this partner does but I am new to working with him. Said I did about a 7 out of 10 on that job. Not sure how to feel about that. What say you all? :) Keep in mind I asked for a 1 to 10 because I cannot talk to him about it for a week or so.

Small firm (my boss, me, & a paralegal). After a hearing I did not handle, boss intended to seek review of the ruling in its entirety. What was communicated to me by paralegal was to seek review of a portion.

Seeking review is now time-barred. Boss is not upset, but this is 1 case & 1 problem. There are other cases & other stories.

How do I talk to my boss about being more present (boss is never in office, has “too many” emails, never answers his phone) without being seen as insubordinate?
