Has anyone tried, university of the people for an MBA. Do your think it’s worth it ? I see it a cheap resource that gets me an mba, can be done part time while work. And fills in any business knowledge gaps since I fall under technical talent. Side note I also live in Canada
Got into consulting from a non-target. Want the opportunity to get involved in higher-level strategy work. Does it make sense to go from MC>MBA>Strategy? Those that have done it, thoughts?
If certification training gets approved through MyLearning but get disapproved by someone over my head should I still go?
How come post-MBA consulting starting salaries are no where near BigLaw starting salaries (~190k)?
Hey is anyone here a MD/MBA who would be willing to connect with a current resident who is looking at post residency opportunities. Thanks!
Have an MBA in finance and IT and have been working in Consulting Risk Assurance for 4 years now doing end to end quantitative and qualitative analysis for the big banks and also audit support. Seeing all the techies make big bucks, i’m considering to move to a big tech company. Not sure which roles would be a good fit to make a switch.
Stigma of using GRE vs GMAT to apply for an MBA? Low UG GPA 2.8, been starting to study for GRE but concerned a slight exam bias could already make it harder.
Genuinely curious: anyone ever switch to MBB during your MBA and regret it? or is there only upside?
Anyone here successfully completed the CIA certification? What study material did you find useful?
If I’m near making out 6-year H1B, I go get MBA on F1. Will that reset the 6-year clock? Or I still have to be out of the country for a year?
What’s a reasonable level of raise for a first year consultant out of MBA (Bay Area)? Just had my first review and was notified there’d be a 6.8% raise in base for next year.
If you’re a recent MBA grad, consider refinancing your student loans with Earnest, already saving me lots of $$ vs. in-school rates
Deloitte 🐠 - whats the salary range for lateral hire experienced manager from competitor to s&o? 10+ years total exp with MBA. Does ~200k base sound feasible?
Anyone exit at the Consultant (1-2 years post MBA) level with significant (7-10 years) prior work experience? Starting to look around and wondering how the combined experience played into your options. Thanks!
I am so conflicted about whether to apply for an MBA or try out another job first. 3.5 YOE. Thoughts?
Any ex consultants here make the jump to IB? Any regrets? Considering getting an MBA and making the transition
Had a rough meeting w client. After meeting is over, walking out the door of conf room she asks "are you lost? Should I escort you out?" Was that a real question or is there a double meaning there?
Is it worth it to be the highest utilized staff and senior? I say no, the raise/bonus difference is not that different
Sometimes a partner will say something wild and in my mind I'm like "👀 I just need a check coming in, don't matter what firm is signing it".
Offered a role in a new boutique firm in their "strategy" team. Is this a better way to lateral into mbb/OW/atk or should I stay in my big name MC firm which does less strategy and more ops?
Finally..I’m out of the ad game. Last day is today. Going into something totally different. It wasn’t easy as I always wanted to be in advertising but at the end of the day it wasn’t really suited for me and the whole pandemic (wfh) made me realize how much working at a physical agency office made up most of the allure for me. For those who are trying to get out the game too, I’m wishing the best of luck to you, just know it is possible. For those who love it, keep grinding. Take care.
Folks who've been laid off before: how do you keep the anxiety from creeping in anytime you make even a small mistake at the new job? 🙁
Generally, in terms of prestige and exit opps, how do Oliver Wyman, Parthenon, LEK and Kearney compare? What about comparison to Big 4 advisory?
Left my iPad on my seat on a Delta flight to ATL. Called the platinum line when I got to the hotel and they directed me to fill out a web form. So far nothing. This was Thursday night.
ACN: Client site is ~100 miles away and nearest airport is in city I'm already in. Is there a way to get reimbursed for mileage if I drive my own car? Or should I just rent? Never not-flown before.
Scheduled for an interview on Friday For Wednesday this week. recruiter forgot to send me the prep material until Monday end of day. Would it be rude to ask To reschedule this interview I really feel like I’m not prepared
What are the ethics of asking a client (not my client, just met when pitching to them and currently am not involved in work delivery) for a referral for a role with their company (another office/role)

What privacy steps do you guys/gals take to mask your job hunting on LinkedIn to prevent people from finding out at your firm, especially people who are on your connections list?
Sent my fifth (and hopefully last application). It was a great journey. What would you do differently? Me: maybe I would spend a shit ton of money on a consultant, just not have regrets

Fairly new to Education (going on 4 yrs) coming from the creative field, it’s disappointing to see how pervasive racism and bullying happens among adults when we are to teach kids to be better.
