My boss is asking me to “reconsider” the way I approach a client… I am in charge of this annoying corporate maintenance thing that we do for a client (I.e., making board of directors meeting to comply with some regulatory reporting required. I always end up missing deadlines. How would you reply?

Asking for advice- I’ve realized consulting is not the path for me long term and have had plans to quit. I have been at my company for 3.5 years. One year ago (2.5 years into my employment with them) they re-leveled everyone and I was bumped to an entry level position on the terms that they changed my job title when they re-leveled, so “technically” I am at the early stages of my new title. Even though the job duties did not really change.
