The agency is doing the background and reference check after I signed the offer letter. When should I give my 2 weeks to my current place? I should wait till the background and reference checks are cleared right? Feel like the process is kinda backward.

Unless you’re a career criminal and picked enemies as references, it’s doubtful anything will turn up and you can go with the signed offer letter.

The most common issue I’ve seen happen since COVID is that some agencies are harder to get ahold of. I had to track down an HR contact number for a previous shop but there’s actually a standardized system for this that most companies use so it’s usually an automated process.

like

Yeah mine was all automated except for education, i graduated from the McDonald’s of art schools that has since gone out of business and they couldn’t verify anything, thankfully my mom keeps everything and had my diploma from when i graduated

Does the offer letter include your start date? Just use that date as your gauge.

Just had the same thing happen, it will be fine. Background checks can take a day or a week etc depending on what they can’t verify online (for me it was education since the school i went to closed).

I was told to give notice once i signed the offer letter, the next day my references were vetted and then the next week my background cleared.

It’s a hot market so i think companies just don’t want to lose talent waiting.

I keep hearing that Booth’s MBA program is rigorous (maybe the most rigorous out of M7). That said, how much more work are students expected to do compared to HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, etc.? I don’t know if this is an outdated opinion, considering a lot of MBAs are very demanding. Booth is personally my top choice for having a flexible curriculum & 2-3 days of classes. But I really want to know what to expect around the “rigorous” label. Does it mean I’ll be buried in coursework the other 2-3 days?

I am done with the L1 round this Monday (26th Sep) and got a response next day over email with the Subject line "Interview Feedback for L1 Interview", in the email it was mentioned that we will get in touch with you shortly.

I need some career advice. I finished my master's degree in international law (B.A.Sc international relations) but I am not sure where to go from here. I always wanted to join a big firm and I've applied to different vacancies in international firms/companies but got rejected from all of them.
Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?
