The family narrative is just a toxic manipulation tactic used to make us accept poor working conditions. Every time management uses the word family, it’s usually followed by a request to work for free or an apology for why we don't have enough supplies. Real families don't exploit each other for profit margins. Can we please just go back to being highly skilled professionals who are here for a paycheck and a purpose?

That's a good point, saying a job is like a family is almost always a way of manipulating people. In fairness, some people may mean it in a benign way, just to say people are casual or friendly or whatever. When management makes a point of always bringing up that the organization is a family it's a bad sign.

Couldn't agree more. I instantly have my guard up whenever I hear a company describe itself as being "like a family." In my experience, that's always code for "we're going to hold you to unreasonable expectations while paying you a pittance."

Calling a workplace a family is such a red flag!

Well, some families do, but I see your point. The conditions are unacceptable in too many places, with understaffing and safety concerns, none of which are being addressed as they should be.

Hi Folks,

I've got a job offer from a small IT company. But before releasing the offer letter, they want me to accept a terms and conditions form which has this 10th point as shown in picture. It states failing to join them will result in paying 2 months of salary that's around 130000 rs.

Is it for real? If I get a better offer somewhere else ane don't join them, will I really have to pay this to them? Please help friends. What should I do?

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. I have an opportunity outside of healthcare that would pay more and challenge me in new ways that I haven’t experienced before. It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!
