Hi All,
Looking to make the move from working in industry to big4 and was curious as to what level and pay I might be worth?
I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Yeah, it just seems kind of self defeating. Agencies should be pushing AI as a tool to keep production costs down if anything. It can help ADR a flubbed line, or build out a VFX heavy shot in an otherwise scrappy production.
But as the poster above pointed out, executional choices are what make the work work, and AI irons out everything that’s human and unique about a spot. It’s arrogant and inaccurate to think our thoughts alone are worth millions, and bragging that it’s been done in hours is a self-defeating argument. “We care about craft. But also, who cares?”
Every agency is hedging their bets and trying to prove that they are future proof just in case. It would be better to take a principled stand. “We can knock out a finished ad in hours” is a stupid thing to promise.
Mischief is probably the best version of an ad agency that exists. It's fast, conceptually strong, full of great craftspeople, and has come closest to figuring out the new game of agency promotion.
But it's still fundamentally the same type of agency that existed 70 years ago. I don't think they've ever claimed to be anything else, but they've been cast in the savior role by a lot of people who are trying to figure out how we can still make money from this kind of work.
Compare them with MSCHF, which actually is a new thing. I bet if you looked at the 'margins' for each company you'd see it.
I actually agree with the part about concepting.
What we need to point out is that the work isn't using AI to do what a human team can. It's working within the limitations of the AI models to kinda sorta make something that resembles a live-action ad. The parameters are actually pretty narrow and this spot shows it.
The aliens? AI figured these out early on and if you watch enough AI content, you'll see the same alien character designs popping up quite a bit.
It's no coincidence the humans are (1) just two of the same dude and (2) revealed to be rubber costumes. AI has an easier time when you have less unique features across characters. And if AI can't really capture human emotion super well, then why not just say it's a costume?
It's the same reason Sora pumps out so much content of the Kennedys on 8mm film stock. The model has been trained enough on their likenesses and performs better the lower the quality is.
I obviously think there's plenty of potential for AI in production (probably best when paired with actual craft). But when you understand why it was made this way, it's more of a cute magic trick.
Clients don't see the difference between concept and production. And even if they did, they don't care.
Fast and cheap trumps everything. They don't care about creative quality.
Anyone who doesn't understand this i.e. most senior leadership, is not paying attention. And why the industry is being pushed off a cliff
Sure it’s frustrating, no creative shop wants to use AI over hiring their favorite director/post house etc. 100% guarantee the use of AI was mandated by some CMO looking to save cash.
For what’s it worth, I agree with Hahn’s approach to bring in AI during production but keeping it out of the ideation process. He’s absolutely right that non-linear thinking is where the best creative happens, and that’s the opposite of how LLMs think.
Guys it’s not a real ad. Some students came in and they made this for fun. No teams or artists or directors were replaced. Relax.
Yeah this was part of some contest. I know people from TBWA that also participated. I think mischief is using it here as an example of where we are with AI and how people see that
what if the goldfish float was tiny? what if the capri sun was long? what if we made the size of the product abnormal? did i mention we're merry pranksters and geniuses?

Personal Pan Pizza was when I kinda started going 🤔
Dude chill. It’s not an ad. That was literally an AI contest called GenJam in NY. A bunch of agencies all got the same prompt. It’s in the post copy.

Mischief is not your savior.

But the business needs agencies that make good creative work. It doesn’t have to be MISCHIEF, but there are fewer and fewer places.
I’ve heard of ppl fleeing mischief. Is this a real thing lately. Anyone there want to confirm or deny
He’s getting very annoying with the AI content and I’m always flabbergasted why they even bother commenting on this nonsense.
They make great “real” work. Stick to that.
Maybe the funeral they had for themselves wasn’t a joke.
