How is work life balance and overall culture in @opentext?

Joining company in a month, would be working first time from office.

Do we need to spend weekends. Working or weekends are really weekend?

Still WFH? What are other chambers doing for task management? Our chambers has been keeping up with assignments, incoming emails needing judge’s eyes, and written orders, all through Microsoft Planner. We share PDFs through Sharepoint folders. Although we still email draft orders back and forth, the system seems to work well enough. We still aren’t operating at our previous capacity because it takes 10x the number of steps to get a motion heard or an order entered—90% of our workload.

I’m at a mid size transactional firm. I’m a total night owl and my partners have OK’d me starting the workday at around 11am because I regularly work until midnight or later. I get so much more done after dark! I still get some side eye from other associates, but 🤷🏽‍♀️

Does anyone else here have an unusual work schedule? Curious what adjustments you’ve made to make it work.

How do I divide the chores in this case? I’m the breadwinner - husband has been taking time off from work. No kids. Two dogs.

I feel like I do more chores because there are some things that I just can’t stand. Like dishes left in the sink, dirty floor, dirty dogs, laundry…etc. When I ask him to do those chores, he says he will do them later but he takes forever. So I do them instead. He does grocery shopping, yard work, some cooking. Is it unfair if I repeatedly ask him to do more? 😡😡

Has anyone just taken a break from work without anything lined up? Every offer I’ve gotten wants me to start in a month and with 2 weeks notice that leaves me only 2 weeks to recharge. I am an associate at a UMM and my employment contract has a 4 month non compete (yes, even for associates) but I am thinking of lateraling. What are the implications of breaking a non compete?
