There is a dangerous comfort zone in the "preparation" phase of a career transition. As long as I am tweaking my resume or drafting content in private, I don't have to face the vulnerability of public rejection or silence. But playing it safe is the fastest way to stay invisible to the market. For those who have successfully pivoted, how did you force yourself to stop planning and start putting yourself out there?

I've never thought about it. I don't care much about rejection, I'm used to it. If I see something I want, I apply and don't give it a second thought until I get a rejection or interview request.

Planning and preparing are the easy parts, but it’s only going to get you so far. Getting out there, being rejected, is how you learn what you need to do. Similar to getting out of a comfort zone for a job, you grow when you push yourself.

Hi everyone! First time posting here. I am in a good sales role at my current company but it’s my first solid AE role in the tech industry. I am interested in exploring other opportunities as I know there are a lot out there, but is anyone else worried about the current economic state? I’m worried that if I find a new position for a new company and the economy going to sh** that I am worried about job security. Anyone else feel this way?

If I have two 401ks (current job and previous job), does the 19k limit apply to both of them together or 19k each?

If I were to rollover a pension lump sum into one of those 401ks, is counted towards the $19k limit? Or is rollover classified differently and I could still continue to contribute to my current 401k?

Newish to data analytics. Have some experience in power BI, sql, and R. I wanted to get some exposure to aws and saw the AWS cloud practitioner as an available course at my job. Is this cert worth it? Or should I try one of the more advanced ones ? The data analytics one for example but wasn’t sure if it would be difficult to get through as a beginner. Will it look good on my resume?

Hi everyone!
I currently work for Graybar Electric as a Project Specialist. Over the past few months, I’ve been training some of the new employees and it’s really inspired me to want to move into a operations training and development or a leadership position. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of room for growth where I’m at. I’m hoping to make new connections and see where this new endeavor takes me, if anyone would be so kind as to refer me. Here’s a picture of our family dog for some likes ❤️

Hi! I have a quick question and could use some advice:

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?
